WELCOME TO THE 21 DAY CHALLENGE
Nothing more important for a Christian to do than to read right through the whole Bible over and over and over, at the very least once a year.
You have to keep checking and refining your beliefs by immersion in the Scripture.
-Tim Keller
GREAT JOB!
Signing up for the 21-Day Challenge is one of the most significant things you can do in college. We want to help you learn to lead yourself spiritually. This starts with building the habit of reading the Bible.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU’LL NEED
A physical Bible (email oklahoma@cru.org if you don’t have one)
A notebook
A pen
We recommend these things, but don’t let them prevent you from getting started. The Bible app and notes app can work, just know being on your phone often opens up to other distractions.
THE PLAN
Each day you are going to read a passage from the gospel of Mark. We then will start asking a series of questions designed to help you see the main idea of the passage. We also will teach you some foundational habits related to reading the Bible.
THE GOAL
The hope is that you will develop a good habit of reading the Bible on your own. We then hope to help you see the tools you can use to read the Bible at a deeper level all the while connecting with God.
WHY THE BIBLE
Connection with God is the purpose of life. It’s why you exist. It’s why you were created. So in response to that, we read the Bible as one of the ways we connect to God and grow our relationship with Him. Just like any relationship, time is an essential ingredient. Reading the Bible is one of the best ways you can spend time with God.
NEXT UP… Mark 1:1-20
